There has been a lot of talk in the UKSoccershop offices this week as to whether Frank Lampard or David Bentley have earned the right to the title of “Goal of the Week”.
Wednesday night’s Match of the Day proved one of the best of the season so far, with Arsenal’s thrilling 4-4 draw against Tottenham at the Emirates certainly the pick of the bunch. It was former Gunners star Bentley who set the tone for the match when his stunning fifty yard volley caught out Manuel Almunia to open the scoring for Harry Redknapp’s men.
Quite content that nothing was going to top that goal, we sat back to enjoy the rest of MOTD, only to watch Lampard’s deft chip float over keeper Boaz Myhill and into the far corner to give Chelsea the lead.
There’s no doubting that both goals were of great quality - both in terms of technique, vision and execution. Although we are slightly leaning towards Lampard’s goal, we can’t decide what our favourite is so we thought we’d open it out to you.
Post your thoughts in the comment box below and tell us who you feel should be goal of the week!

I might be slightly biased here… but I’m going to vote for Lampard!

It has to be said that Lampard’s effort was a poorly executed cross whereas Bentley’s was a once in a lifetime blinder in the biggest derby of the season against his old club, with the fans giving him stick throughout.
Bentley without a doubt.
