Mauro Zarate burst on to the scene last year with a loan move to Birmingham from Al-Sadd in the Qatari League. The move was a loan with the potential to make the move a permanent one however Birminghams relegation to the Championship soon ended the hope of that.

Zarate was relatively unknown before he moved to Birmingham but had performed well in his native Argentina and helped the Argentina Under-20 team to win the World Cup in 2007. He has now moved to Lazio on loan where he has continued the impressive form that he showed for Birmingham and he is becoming one of the hottest young prospects in world football.

Zarate made an instant impact with Lazio scoring 2 goals in his opening match and he has continued to be lethal in front of goal since. He is a very exciting player and it will be interesting to see where he will be next season as he is sure to attract attention from Europes big clubs.

Zarate has been a sensation since his arrival in the summer and is quickly making himself a fans favourite amongst the supporters.
